SESPRS 2018 Resident Competition Abstract Submission

Please follow the instructions below to submit your abstract for the Resident Paper Competition at the SESPRS 61st Annual Scientific Meeting to be held June 17-20, 2018 at The Breakers in Palm Beach, FL. The deadline to submit your abstract is March 15, 2018 - Midnight EST. Abstracts received after midnight will not be considered. If you are having trouble submitting your abstract and/or supporting materials, or have any questions, contact the Society office info@sesprs.org or call (435) 901-2544.

Rules and Guidelines
1. Abstracts must be from a Resident in Plastic Surgery who is a Candidate Member of the Society. Residents in other specialties are not eligible for this competition.

2. Each Resident paper must be co-sponsored by a SESPRS member in good standing. The membership status of your sponsor will be reviewed and confirmed by SESPRS staff prior to grading. Call us at (435) 901-2544 for assistance with this part of the process, if needed.

3. The Resident submitting the abstract will be the main contact for all correspondence and MUST be the presenter if selected.

4. A Disclosure Form from the main author & presenter must be provided at the time of abstract submission. Abstracts will be screened for conflict of interest, based on disclosure, prior to assessment by reviewers. CLICK HERE to be directed to the online disclosure form.

5. Abstracts will not be considered if an author is employed by any commercial interests that are associated with the content of the abstract. The ACCME defines a commercial interest as: any entity producing, marketing, re-selling or distributing healthcare goods or services consumed by, or used on patients.

6. Final data MUST be included in the abstract. Clear representations of graphs, tables and photographs included in the abstract will be helpful in making the final selections. Images must be of excellent quality. Abstracts may NOT be more than 250 words.

7. While topics on all aspects of plastic surgery will be considered for presentation, we are particularly interested in receiving abstracts which display significant clinical relevance. Resident abstracts should reflect work done by the presenting resident and must have been done at the sponsoring institution.

Twelve abstracts will be selected, by the Committee for inclusion in the Glancy Resident's Competition, the best two of which will receive awards. The Glancy Bowl will then reside at the winning institution for the following year. Abstracts not selected by the Committee for the Competition may be eligible for inclusion in the general program or to be given as a poster presentation.

8. Abstracts reviewed by the Committee will be blinded, so please keep the abstract clean of any identifiable institutional information and author(s) names.

9. All abstracts must be submitted electronically.

10. All papers accepted for the competition must be presented by the submitting resident - substitute presenters are not acceptable. Residents that have their papers accepted and who agree to participate must be present on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday mornings, as well as Tuesday evening for the Formal Dinner, at which time the winners will be announced.

11. You will receive an e-mail confirmation of your abstract submission. Acceptance notification will be made in early Spring 2018.
